The Senators had a sequence to start the fourth quarter in which Montshianna Pulliam and Ashley Robinson both knocked down threes in a matter of seven seconds to make it a ten point ballgame. Lanphier put up a fight until the very end though with a chance to tie it at the buzzer.
Springfield High as the one seed, survived a scare on night one of the 2017 girls City Tournament and beat Lanphier 49-46.
Ozzy Erewele had 11 points for the Senators and Raina Gully added ten. Jeniya Griffin led all scorers with 15 points for the Lions who will play SHG on Wednesday night, while Springfield High gets Southeast.
