Hunter Maxwell’s pull up jumper in the final seconds lifted Athens to a thrilling, 45-44 win in front of a packed house at Williamsville. Maxwell pulled up around the free throw line and after a slight mid-air hesitation, let it fly and swished it home, which resembled Michael Jordan’s game-winner over Ehlo during the 1989 Eastern Conference Playoffs.
Maxwell scored 17 points and Devin Richardson chipped in with 14 points. Joe Mitchell scored a game high 19 points for the Bullets.
