Eisenhower never trailed in the second half of Friday night’s Week 6 matchup with Glenwood until it was almost too late to do anything about it. Jabbar Cross found Cole Hembrough for a 20 yard strike with less than two minutes to play. It delivered the game winning score in a 42-36 victory. Cross, who stepped in at quarterback last week, connected with the quarterback he replaced for the score. Cross finished with 139 pass yards, 121 rush yards and four total touchdowns.
The loss was Eisenhower’s first of the season but the loss of the game may pail in comparison to the loss of their quarterback Cayleb Dehority. Dehority left with an injured left foot in the first quarter and never returned. He spent the rest of the game on crutches on the sideline. The Panthers may have a silver lining in the fact that Matt Skeffington stepped in to throw for 241 yards while both running and throwing for a score.
