Last season, North Mac held on to defeat Auburn 35-28 in overtime, making it one of the most exciting games in the history of the Sangamo. Friday nights game between the Panthers and Trojans was just as good, if not better.
After a Kendall Bearden touchdown with 24.3 seconds left to cut the Auburn lead to 14-13, the Panthers originally lined up for an extra point in an attempt to tie the game. After an Auburn timeout, though, North Mac elected to go for two and the win. Grant Graham handed the ball off to Bearden, who crossed the goal line for the game-winning two-point conversion.
The Panthers move to 5-0 with the win. Auburn falls to 2-3.
