Pleasant Plains bounced back from a tough Week 1 loss at Athens with a resounding 43-0 win over Riverton in their home opener on Friday. Junior Cardinals quarterback Zach Ely threw for four touchdown passes, three of which went to junior wide receiver Kai Carlberg. The Cardinals defense posted their first shutout since 2012, thanks a dominant perforamance by the defensive line and three interceptions from junior Kevin Ingram, one of which he returned for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. Plains goes to 1-1 with the win and will host 1-1 Auburn next Friday night.
