Springfield outhit SHG 10-3 on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 loss to the Cyclones. On Wednesday, the Senators were outhit 6-5, but played stellar ball in the field to preserve a 4-1 victory.
In the bottom of the third inning, with Cal Elvers on second base, Tommy Drake singled into right field, but Ethan Klay made a terrific throw home to nail Elvers.
Then, in the bottom of the fourth inning, John Plattner singled into left field with Sam Raes on second and Austin Kornack threw a dart to Vishakh Patel at home, who made a great tag on Raes to kill the Cyclones' rally.
Michael Lavin earned the win for Springfield, pitching a complete game, surrenduring just one earned run.
