Playing high school baseball under the lights is a unique experience that every player embraces due to the rarity of it. Tuesday night's matchup between PORTA and Athens took that to another level as the Jays outslugged the Warriors 16-14 in a game that spanned 12 innings and didn't end until just after midnight.

Athens took a 4-0 lead into the fourth inning, when the craziness commenced. The Jays batted around and put together a 10-run inning to take a 10-4 advantage. Athens would hack away at that deficit over the next few innings and trailed 12-10 heading into the bottom of ths seventh. Mason Reiff and Noah Tisdale both shot balls into right field to tie the ball gameup at 12.

PORTA and Athens both had chances with runners in scoring position in extra innings, but couldn't capitalize. Finally, in the top of the 12, the Jays put together a four-run inning and held on in the latter half of the frame to win 16-14.
