Glenwood was a dark horse as they made their run to a Central State 8 title a season ago, so a repeat effort should come as no surprise. Still, Tuesday's 54-48 win at Lanphier which pulled the Titans into a tie in the CS8 standings with one game to go, seemed to shock everyone not wearing Titans' red.
And here they are again. Glenwood forced Lanphier to shoot 29.4 percent from the field while outrebounding the Lions 37-21 in a game that would have secured an outright conference crown on the north side. Parker Allen posted a double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ethan Hunt added 16 points and seven boards in the win.
Glenwood and Lanphier each have three conference losses heading into Friday's regular season finale. Lanphier travels to Southeast to face a Spartans team with four losses. Glenwood will host Lincoln. Both the Titans and Lions could clinch at least a share with a win. Southeast could pull into a four way with tie with a win and a Glenwood loss. Jacksonville also finished their CS8 slate with four losses.
