The Pleasant Plains Cardinals were down by as many as ten in the fourth quarter, but found a way to give themselves a chance and Daulton Nibbe hit a buzzer beating shot off the window to tie it up at 54 and force overtime.

Isaac Collins hit five three-pointers in the first quarter alone, Nibbe scored 14 points and had six assists and Austin Finley put up 14 points and 15 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Plains fell to Reed Custer in overtime 70-64 to end the 2016 Riverton Shootout in exciting fashion.

Travis Schoonover had 20 points for the Comets and Brent Headrick and AJ Simonelli each posted double-doubles to power Reed Custer to the victory and hand Plains just their third loss of the season.

Plains played three and a half quarters without their starting junior point guard Cole Greer who suffered a sprained left ankle and sat out the remainder of the game.

Plains is still undefeated in the Sangamo conference and has New Berlin on Tuesday before traveling back to Riverton to take on the Hawks for what could be the conference championship.
