Greer and the Cardinals Come Through Against Athens’ Best Shot

Cole Greer went 14 for 17 from the free throw line, most coming in the final two minutes of the game to lead the Pleasant Plains Cardinals past the upset-minded Athens Warriors 62-56 on Friday night.

Greer finished with 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the Cardinals who had to come back from a nine point deficit in the second half. 

Matt Wendling led all scorers with 24 for Athens and Hunter Maxwell chipped in 11 but it wasn't enough. 

Isaac Collins scored 14 points for Plains including 4 of 7 from three-point range and Daulton Nibbe threw in 11 points. 

Pleasant Plains is now 21-2 on the season and 6-0 in the Sangamo conference. The win on Friday night was Cliff Cameron's 400th career victory as the Cardinals' head coach.
