Ali Pankey calmly hit two free throws with 9.4 on the clock to give Pleasant Plains a one point lead and the Cardinal defense held to give Plains a 55-54 win over previously undefeated and reigning 1A state champion Central A&M.
Pankey scored a team high 17 points, while Amber Clouser added 11 and Regan Fitzgerald chipped in eight.
Central A&M was led by 19 from Mikah Maples and 15 from Ryan Dooley.
