Sens’ City: Senators Storm Back Against Cycs For City 3-Peat

Down by as many as 19 in the first half and ten heading into the fourth quarter, the Springfield High Senators slowly chipped away at SHG's lead to beat the Cyclones 50-46 for their third straight City championship on Thursday at Southeast High School. 

Springfield High shot 33 percent in the first half, but flipped the script and shot 66 percent in the second half. The Senators were led by 15 points from Kyra Webster while Sarah Cross and Brooklyn Crum each added nine. Ashley Robinson and Montshianna Pulliam each chipped in eight in the balanced scoring attack. 

SHG made six three-pointers, including four in the first half. The Cyclones were led by ten points each from Catie Costa and Catie Eck, while Katie McLean and Anna Lowis each added seven.

The win keeps the Senators just one game behind Rochester in the Central State Eight standings. The Rockets beat Glenwood 60-49 on Thursday.
