The Do or Die Bowl, which had become the preeminent All Star football game in West Central Illinois, is back after a year hiatus and it's got a new twist. This year's game, which will be played on Saturday, June 24th at Quincy University Stadium will feature a Quincy area all-star squad taking on a Springfield area all-star team. Jacksonville head coach Mark Grounds will coach the "East" team and SHG's Ken Leonard will coach the "West." The 2017 Do Or Die Bowl will be played at SHG.
The revival of the event comes as a result of the support provided by the I-72 Coaches Association. The Do Or Die Bowl was started by KHQA's Chris Duerr and ran successfully for 10 years before complications led to it's absence in the summer of 2015.
