Trevyon Williams hit a three pointer with less than 10 seconds to play to force overtime and the Spartans never trailed in the extra period in a 79-74 Southeast win over Lanphier in the 2016 City Tournament championship game on Saturday at the PCCC. Xavier Bishop's 30 points were enough to break Dave Robisch's tournament scoring record of 98 points. The new mark sits at 101 points, but Bishop was denied a title in his final City game.
The game featured 58 fouls and 85 free throw attempts. Five starters fouled out, three from Lanphier and two from Southeast. It also featured a breakout performance from Southeast freshman Anthony Fairlee who scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
It's the first City championship for the Spartans since 2013 and the 22nd in school history.
