Matt Wendling made three free throws with 4.4 to play to force overtime and Drayton Davis did the dirty work in the extra frame to send Athens to the Waverly Holiday Tournament championship.
Athens got 36 points from Wendling, including two hammer dunks and the three free throws in clutch time to beat West Central 70-65 in overtime in the semifinal.
Athens will play Lincolnwood on Wednesday evening for the title.
