For the first time in six seasons, Springfield High is not the defending Central State 8 champion. They took the first significant step to reclaiming that throne with a 64-52 win over Southeast on Thursday.
Four Senators scored a dozen points in the win. Kyra Webster, Sarah Cross, Brooklyn Crum and Abby Ratsh all finished with 12 points. Montshianna Pulliam added 10 in a balanced scoring effort.
Southeast's Shelby Williams led all scorers with 14 points and Adrianna Brown added 13.
Rochester went undefeated in Central State 8 play last season to earn the CS8 championship.
