The Southeast Spartans started off slow, but used their defense and quickness to grind out a great win over Thornton 64-57 in their season opener and first game of the Decatur Turkey Tournament.
Isaiah Walton and Trevyon Williams each started their junior campaign's with a team high 16 points, while D'Angelo Hughes added 11 and Jordan Stapleton chipped in nine.
Southeast will take on Eisenhower Friday evening in the semifinals.
