Petersburg PORTA graduated four starters from a team that won a regional title a season ago and played in the 2A state tournament the year before that. Still, the Bluejays were in familiar form in a 64-44 win over Tri-City at the Bill Rucks Tournament in Mt. Pulaski on Tuesday.
Trevor Watson and Chris Nicholas scored 17 and 14 points respectively for PORTA. Neither played significant minutes at the varsity level last season. Max Muller, the lone returning starter, scored eight points as the Bluejays improved to 2-0 on the season.
