All the talk was around the Auburn offense against the Pana defense but it was the Trojan defense that stepped up almost each and every time they needed to.
Auburn beat Pana 20-7 in the 2A state quarterfinal on Saturday, thanks to two touchdowns from Drew Chance and another rushing score from Ryan McLaughlin.
Pana got their only points of the day on a Rhett Zahradka to Adam Miller pass but Chance responded on the next play in the second quarter with an 80 yard touchdown run and the Panthers led for less than 30 seconds.
Auburn, who picked up the school's 600th win in history, will host Nashville next weekend in the 2A state semifinals.
