Taylorville quarterback Blake Heimsness accounted for all four Tornado touchdowns on Saturday, throwing for two and rushing for two as he led his team to a school record 11th win.
Taylorville's defense, led by an interception and a forced fumble from Tanner Thomason, held the high-power Herrin attack to just six points and the Tornadoes get a win in round two of the IHSA Class 4A state playoffs by a score of 28-6.
Taylorville will travel to Breese Mater Dei in round three next Saturday.
