Rochester's Katherine Petty won the 2A individual title the Decatur MacArthur sectional on Saturday but Glenwood clipped the Rockets for the 2A team title behind fellow freshman Savannah Duncan's strong showing. Springfield finished in third place on the girls side to round out a 1-2-3 finish for the Central State 8.
Heath Warren finished second individually in the 2A boys race and let Springfield High to a team title in the process. Glenwood finished in second in the team standings and both will advance to next weekend's state meet.
At the 1A Elmwood sectional, Pleasant Plains senior Tyler Johnson took home the individual crown and on the girls side, Petersburg PORTA and Springfield Lutheran finished second and third respectively in the team race.
