There's a different feel to this post season for SHG, with expectations mounting for a deep playoff run and on Thursday the Cyclones passed their first significant test in a straight set, but hard fought win over Rochester in the 3A SHG Regional Finals
The Cyclones fought off 19-15 and 22-19 deficits in the first set before closing on a 6-1 run to take it 25-23. Rochester was visibly deflated after letting an early set slip through their fingers and SHG cruised to a 25-12 win in the second.
Eilise Cummins had nine kills and four blocks for the Cyclones, both team highs. Emma Hopkins added four kills and Annie Urbance led SHG with 11 digs. Rochester junior Angela Perry had a team high five kills and five blocks for the Rockets.
