It was a battle between New Berlin's quick moving spread offense and West Hancock's (6-3) methodical Wing-T attack on Friday and thanks to a late Cam Cummings to Jack Eason touchdown, the Pretzels won the war 28-26. The non-conference win helps New Berlin improve to 7-2 on the season. They now wait to see whether they'll be a 2A or a 3A team for next week's Round 1 game and they also wait to see if they'll host that contest.
Cummings was 18-22 in the pass game, racking up 287 yards and two scores. He found paydirt in the ground game once while compiling 137 rushing yards. Eason, who caught the game winning score, pulled in five receptions for 123 yards. Connor Burger finished with nine catches for 108 yards.
