The Springfield High Senators were able to hold on for a 1-0 win over Mahomet-Seymour on Monday but suffered a big loss to their defense.

Goalkeeper Evan Wright suffered a broken hand on a play in the first half, but the Senators grabbed a goal on a penalty kick scored by Kelby Phillips.

Springfield held on for the 1-0 shutout win over Mahomet, but will be forced to play without Wright for what they said will likely be 6-8 weeks.
