Amid Altercation Lanphier Holds On For Last Second Win Over MacArthur To Keep Pace With Southeast

MacArthur came into Lober-Nika Gym Saturday night with a chance to make the CS8 standings much more interesting with a win. Lanphier held on for a 62-59 win, but not without fireworks. In the third quarter of a back and forth game, a hard foul incited an altercation between the two teams that brought about double technicals and an ejection for a player leaving the bench. Unlike three years ago between these two teams, officials and teams were able to settle the situation and the game went on.

Lanphier saw a 13-point halftime lead slowly diminish to single digits, and MacArthur even snagged a two point lead with under two minutes to go. The Lions, however, were clutch down the stretch from the foul line, as Lanphier held on for the win.

Cardell McGee had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals for the Lions. Armon Brumett had 19 points for the Generals.
