Lanphier senior guard Yaakema Rose put up a Russell Westbrook type stat line on the big stage. Rose had 26 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 steals to lead the Lions to a 60-49 win over Southeast to bring the 2017 City championship to the North Side.
Cardell McGee chipped in 16 points and 5 boards, but from the second quarter on…it was all Yaakema Rose. Lanphier took a 24-20 lead at halftime and quickly pushed it to ten points and despite Isaiah Walton’s best effort with 22 points, Lanphier never took their foot off the gas.
Lanphier improves to 16-1 on the season and 9-1 in the CS8.
