Seth Hill Set To Take Over New Berlin Football Head Coaching Duties Following The Trevor Compardo Resignation

New Berlin offensive coordinator Seth Hill has been tapped to take over the New Berlin head coaching job in the wake of Trevor Compardo’s resignation. Compardo resigned on Thursday, delivering this official statement:

I have officially accepted a teaching position with the Rochester School District. This opportunity came up very quickly and I have considered my options for the last couple days. I decided that accepting this position is the best decision for my family in the long term. In the late spring, my wife, CJ was hired as an assistant principal in the Williamsville-Sherman school district and is going to be transitioning in that role this school year. I feel that it was time to allow her to focus on this role and for me to support her in this career progression. As a result, it is with a heavy heart that I will be resigning as both teacher and head football coach at New Berlin High School. Through our off-season strength and conditioning sessions and our summer workouts, I believe that the team is prepared as possible to have a successful season. The timing is difficult for all involved but this decision was made with the best interest of my family as the main factor. I believe that the foundation for sustained success has been set and can be continued. I would like to thank Megan Doerfler (former principal/AD at New Berlin, now Principal at Riverton Middle School) for the opportunity to come back to my home town and serve in this capacity, both as a teacher and coach.

Seth Hill, Compardo’s successor, served as offensive coordinator for the Pretzels in 2017. Before that he was the head coach of Litchfield High School, has served as offensive coordinator at Rushville High School and offensive line coach at Jacksonville High School. A Jacksonville graduate, Hill went on to play four years of collegiate football at Monmouth College, where he was a three year starter. Coach Hill currently teaches Social Studies and Drivers Ed at Waverly High School.

In an official statement, New Berlin Athletic Director Blake Lucas said, “NB is a special place and our kids will be ready to compete. Seth brings a passion for both football and working with kids. We are looking forward to seeing that passion translate to our student athletes.”
