Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Charlise Carr (Normal U-High Girls Soccer) The Normal U-High Pioneers are State Champs! After being scoreless at the end of regulation against Rock Island Alleman, it was Carr with the goal in the first overtime period to put U-High up 1-0. The Pioneers held on in the second overtime period for the state title. See the highlight of the overtime title game HERE.

Jackson Kern (Auburn Boys Track & Field) A big day at Eastern for Kern as he repeats as state champ in the 300m hurdles (37.80). He also picked up a second place finish in the 110m hurdles (14.33) and was a part of Auburn’s third place 4×400 team (3:25.52). Boys state track and field highlights HERE.

Mason Kooi (Lutheran Boys Track & Field) Another repeat champion from the boys state track and field meet was Kooi who defended his championship in high jump (6′ 8.75″). He also finished third in long jump (20′ 10.75″) and finished fourth in triple jump (44′ 0.25″). Boys state track and field highlights HERE.

Ella Wilcockson (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) One goal was all the Cardinals needed on Saturday in the state third place game to seal the victory. That goal came from Wilcockson late in the first half as Pleasant Plains brings home a third place trophy. See that goal and more first half highlights HERE.

Lyla Franke (Glenwood Girls Soccer) In the 12th minute of the sectional title game in Normal on Friday night, it was Franke who found the goal to put the Titans head 1-0. That would be the final as Glenwood gets the win over Rochester to return to the super sectional in Glenwood on Tuesday against Triad. Highlights of the sectional title game HERE.

Emma Scheffler (Springfield High Softball) The Senators are regional champs for the second year in a row! Scoreless till the bottom of the sixth inning, it was Scheffler who came up with an RBI double to put a run on the board for Springfield. She would then score on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Ryleigh Kiel (Glenwood Softball) A big night for Kiel on Friday as the Titans win a regional title and she hits for a cycle. She started with a triple in the first, hit a two run homer in the second, a two RBI double come in the third and she finished it with a two RBI single in the fourth. Eli Carlson (Rochester Baseball) A big day for the Rockets at home as they won a 3A regional title. In the 4-0 win against Springfield High, Carlson threw seven shutout innings, allowing four hits, walking one and striking out six. Rochester will head to the Lincoln sectional this week. Alex Cashman (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans are regional champs after a 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart Griffin on Saturday. Tied at one in the bottom of the fifth, Cashman come up with an RBI to score what would be the game winning run. With the win Glenwood advances to the Lincoln sectional this week.
