Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: May 1-6

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Cassie Feld (Glenwood Softball) The Titans will look to clinch at least a share of the conference title this week after two CS8 wins over Rochester last week. In a 6-2 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday, Feld went 2 for 4 driving in five runs and scoring a run. She also went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored on Tuesday in a 11-0 win versus Rochester. Highlights of Tuesday’s game HERE and Wednesday’s game HERE.

Teagan Morley (Pleasant Plains Girls Track and Field) The Cardinals picked up the girls Sangamo conference title on Wednesday in Auburn and Morley had a big night with multiple top three finishes. She took second in pole vault at 10’4″ and second in the 100m (12.95). She was also a part of the winning 4×400 (4:08.51) and second place 4×200 (1:49.25). Highlights of the girls Sangamo meet HERE.

Maggie Gleckler (Rochester Soccer) The Rockets picked up a big win over Springfield High last week with Glecker leading the way. She scored three goals and added two assists in the 6-2 win. Check out those goals and more HERE.

James Harris (Lanphier Boys Track and Field) The Boys City track meet was held at Southeast on Tuesday and despite Springfield High picking up the title it was Harris who stole the show. He had individual wins in the 100m (11.22), 200m (22.62), and 400m (51.02). He was also a part of the second place 4×100 team with a time of 44.26. You can see the highlights HERE.

Abigail Stephens (Glenwood Soccer) Glenwood has locked up at least a share of the Central State Eight on Friday with a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart Griffin. Stephens picked up the shutout in goal to help claim the title and victory. See the highlights HERE.

LeBryant Flagg (Maroa Forsyth Boys Track and Field) On the boys side of thing it was the Trojans claiming the Sangamo title in Auburn on Wednesday. Flagg won long jump at 6.20m and took fifth in the 100 (11.50). He also was a part of two winning relays, the 4×200 (1:31.88) and the 4×100 (44.08). Highlights of the boys Sangamo meet HERE.

Menna Taylor (Auburn Softball) A win over PORTA on Tuesday helped Auburn claim a share of the Sangamo title. In the win Taylor threw seven innings allowing three hits, one run and striking out 17. She also went 4 for 5 at the plate in the 10-1 victory.

Kaden Griffitts (Williamsville Baseball) Williamsville picked up four wins last week along with winning the Sangamo title outright. In their final conference game of the year Griffitts went 2 for 3, driving in four and scoring three in a 12-2 win over New Berlin. He also had an RBI in wins over Taylorville and Springfield and another four RBI game in a victory against Southeast.

Natalie Miles (Glenwood Girls Track and Field) Glenwood takes the girls Central State Eight track and field championship as they picked up the win at Southeast on Thursday. Miles was a two time winner that night in the long jump (4.94m) and the triple jump (10.41m). See the highlights of the CS8 Girls meet HERE.

Evan Cooper (Mt Pulaski Baseball) A windy Monday in Mt Pulaski as the Toppers hosted New Berlin. In the wild 20-11 comeback win for Mt Pulaski, Cooper lead the way at the plate. He went 6 for 6 with five RBIs and four runs scored. Some highlights of that game HERE.

Jack Swaney (Rochester Baseball) In a game that you need to see the highlights to understand it was the Rockets taking a 4-3 win over Glenwood despite a no-hitter from the Titans’ Parker Detmers. Swaney led Rochester on the mound with five innings pitched allowing three hits, three runs and striking out seven. See how Rochester got the win HERE.
