The Loggers Sweep the Snappers after Rain Delay on Saturday

LLCC vs Spoon River Game 1:
The Loggers weathered a scare by Spoon River College in the seventh inning where Lincoln Land coughed up three runs, but the Loggers still won 12-4 on Saturday, in game one of a double header. Spoon River College scored its runs on a home run by Clayton McKinstry.

Lincoln Land got things moving in the first inning, when Josh DeLeon’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for the Loggers. Lincoln Land notched three runs in the eighth inning.  Ryan Maul had an RBI in the inning to lead the run scoring. Mitch Dye earned the win for the Loggers. Dye lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out nine.  Logan Antrim and Keleb Rogers entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

DeLeon was on the hill for the Snappers. The bulldog surrendered six runs on nine hits over three and a third innings, striking out three.  Dalton Horwedel, Keegan Shovlain, and Wyatt Seymour each contributed in relief for Spoon River. The Loggers hit one home run on the day. Grant Pohlman had a long ball in the sixth inning.

Lincoln Land saw the ball well today, racking up 20 hits in the game.  Caleb Royer, Evan Kochel, Trace Melody, Wandel Campana, Trent Koehler, Hunter Moser, and Maul each racked up multiple hits for the Loggers.  Royer went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits. Spoon River College racked up six hits in the game.  Luke Towery and McKinstry all had multiple hits for Spoon River College.
 

LLCC vs Spoon River Game 2:
Trent Koehler was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead the Loggers past Spoon River 11-1.  Koehler drove in runs on a grand slam in the first. The Loggers secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning.  Lincoln Land offense in the inning was led by Will Rohlk, Trace Melody, and Koehler, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

In the first inning, the Loggers got their offense started when Rohlk drew a walk, scoring one run. Adam Lindsey took the win for Lincoln Land. The righthander went five innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven. Matthew Cruise toed the rubber for the Snappers. The hurler surrendered seven runs on three hits over two innings.  Kellan Herschberger threw two innings out of the bullpen. The Loggers smacked one home run on the day. Koehler had a homer in the first inning.

Lincoln Land collected seven hits on the day.  Ryan Maul and Koehler all managed multiple hits for the Loggers.  Koehler and Maul each collected two hits to lead Lincoln Land.  The Loggers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hunter Moser had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
