LLCC Baseball: Loggers Split with Parkland After High Scoring First Game

LLCC vs Parkland Game 1:
Five runs batted in from Caleb Royer helped lead the Loggers past Parkland College 16-13 on Friday in game 1 of double header. Royer drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the second, and a walk in the sixth. Lincoln Land earned the victory despite allowing the Cobras to score nine runs in the first inning.  Ryan Snell, Tyler Herron,  Angelo Luna, Austin Gomm, and Snell all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Parkland got on the board in the first inning with Snell scoring three runs off a double. The Loggers took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning.  In the fifth Evan Kochel homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. The Loggers scored six runs in the fourth inning.  Kochel, Trent Koehler, Adam Passmore, and Grant Pohlman powered the big inning with RBIs.

Logan Antrim took the win for Lincoln Land. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking zero.  Porter Conn threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Louis Stallone took the loss for Parkland College. Stallone allowed four hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Tresdon Rybarczyk started the game for the Cobras. The righthander went two innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out two Mitch Dye started the game for the Loggers. Dye went two-thirds of an inning, allowing eight runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking zero. Lincoln Land smacked two home runs on the day. Kochel had a homer in the fifth inning. Royer went deep in the second inning.

The Loggers had 15 hits in the game.  Pohlman, Royer, Wandel Campana, and Koehler all had multiple hits.  Royer and Pohlman each collected three hits. Lincoln Land was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Royer made the most plays with eight.
The Cobras racked up 15 hits in the game.  Gomm, Snell, Jackson Blemler, and Nate Bingman each had multiple hits for the Cobras.  Gomm led Parkland with four hits in five at bats.

LLCC vs Parkland Game 2:
The Loggers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-5 loss to Parkland on Friday in second game of double header. The Cobras took the lead on a home run in the second inning. Parkland opened up scoring in the second inning.  Nate Bingman drove in three when Bingman homered.

Lincoln Land notched four runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive firepower by the Loggers was led by Caleb Royer and Trent Koehler, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Parkland scored three runs in the fourth inning.  The big inning came thanks to singles by Austin Gomm and Ryan Snell. Carter Monke was the winning pitcher for the Cobras. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out nine.  Brenden Katz and Richie Snider entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Adam Lindsey took the loss for the Loggers. The pitcher went three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out four. Lincoln Land socked one home run on the day. Royer had a long ball in the sixth inning. Wandel Campana went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits.

Parkland tallied 15 hits in the game.  Ty Hollandsworth, Bingman, Snell, Logan Reidelberger, Jackson Blemler, and Gomm each had multiple hits. The Cobras didn’t commit a single error in the field. Charlie Marisca had the most chances in the field with ten.
