Bryar Lane (PORTA Wrestling) The PORTA Bluejays won the 2022 Rex Avery PORTA Invite on Saturday. Lane was one of two Bluejays to win his weight class with a fall against Rese Shymansky of Farmington. See all of the local winners from the Invite HERE.

Mason Funk (UHigh Boys Basketball) UHigh continues to pick up conference wins with victories over Eisenhower and Glenwood last week. On Friday in Chatham Funk led the team with a double double in the 54-37 victory. He had 23 points and 11 rebounds, see some of those baskets and more HERE.

JaiQuan Holman (Lanphier Boys Basketball) A big week of City matchups last week and Holman was the leading man in both Lion victories. Against Southeast on Tuesday he had 31 points in the 60-54 win then he scored 24 on Friday in a 68-54 win over Springfield High. Emma Scheffler (Springfield High Girls Basketball) Springfield High survived a fourth quarter comeback from SHG on Tuesday night for a 56-51 victory. In that game Scheffler led the Senators with 17 points and shot 4 for 5 from three points range. She also had 18 points in a win over Lanphier on Saturday. Jake Hamilton (SHG Boys Basketball) The Cyclones continue to roll this season with two more running clock wins. In the victory over Springfield High on Tuesday Hamilton had 23 points. Eighteen of those points came in the first half as SHG picked up the 69-29 victory. Highlights of that game HERE.

Jacob Finley (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Bullets are out to a 4-0 start to the season including two wins last week. In a win over Monticello on Tuesday Finley had 10 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks while he added another 21, nine and six in a win on Friday against Nokomis.

Emma Dixon (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets move to 4-0 in the CS8 after wins over MacArthur and Eisenhower. In the 59-41 victory over MacArthur on Tuesday Dixon scored 28 points. Check out the highlights of that win HERE.

Jackson Kern (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans continue to pick up wins including a 60-51 victory over Pana on Saturday. Kern scored 11 points in the second half of the victory and finished with a team high 17 points.

Alexis Seymour (Jacksonville Wrestling) The Jacksonville girls wrestling team competed at the Pontiac Tournament over the weekend. Seymour took home a first place in her weight class with a 10-9 decision against Grace Laird from Joliet Catholic.

Amari Anderson (Calvary Boys Basketball) Calvary got a big overtime win against Athens on Saturday. The Saints got the 72-67 victory as Anderson led the team with 36 points. He made four 3-pointers and went 8 for 8 at the free throw line. Four of those free throws were in overtime.

Cole Roberts (PORTA Boys Basketball) The Bluejays won a close one against Beardstown last week with a 42-35 victory. Roberts led PORTA with 18 points in the win including 6 points in the fourth as the Bluejays outscored the Tigers 16-9.

Alexis Wade (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Hilltoppers picked up a Tomahawk win over Midwest Central last week with 65-59 victory. Wade scored 29 points in the Mt Pulaski win.
