Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Bill Sanders (Sacred Heart Griffin Football) The Cyclones are State Champions! SHG defeated Providence Catholic 44-20 in the 4A state title game on Friday night. Sanders picked up the yards all night long with 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns along with 54 receiving yards and another touchdown. Highlights of the championship game HERE.

Harley Sharp (Williamsville Football) The Bullets brought home a second place finish after falling to IC Catholic in the 3A State Championship. Sharp was big on both offense and special teams for Williamsville picking up 105 total yards and one touchdown. See the highlights of the game HERE.

Chase Cunningham (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals are Turkey Tournament champs for the first time since 2015. MacArthur went 3-0 in the Decatur tournament last week and finished it with a 75-64 victory over Bolingbrook in the championship. Cunningham had a game high 26 points in the victory. Mason Marshall (Glenwood Boys Basketball) Glenwood went 3-0 at the Crimson Classic last week including a win over Chicago Brooks to earn the Classic Championship. In the win over Brooks, Marshall led the team with 20 points. The Titans also got a non-conference win over Jacksonville earlier in the day on Saturday, highlights of that win HERE.

Gannon Dodd (New Berlin Boys Basketball) The Pretzels won the 2022 Gene Bergschneider Turkey Tournament in overtime Saturday night. New Berlin won the opening tip of overtime and held the ball for 3 minutes and 49 seconds. Dodd hit a free throw to give the Pretzels the lead and eventually the win. Highlights of the game HERE.

Emma Dixon (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets picked up an overtime win over Taylorville on Saturday to win the Taylorville Thanksgiving Tournament. Dixon was named to the all tournament team as Rochester finished the tournament 5-0.

Talin Kern (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans won the Bill Rucks Thanksgiving Tournament with a 57-56 overtime win against Clinton. Kern hit a last second three to give Auburn the lead and the victory. He was also named to the all tournament team.

Zach Powell (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals traveled to Monticello on Tuesday for an early season matchup. Powell ended the night with a double double and 16 points. See the highlights of the game HERE.

Gavin Arthalony (PORTA Boys Basketball) PORTA went 4-0 and won the Pittsfield Turkey Tournament with a 38-34 victory over the Saukees on Friday night. Arthalony scores a game high 18 points in the win while also picking up all tournament honors.

Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) The Lady Railers won the Pana Thanksgiving Tournament over the weekend as they stay hot with a great start to the season. Froebe made the all tournament team and was also named tournament MVP.

Aden Byal (Glenwood Wrestling) Glenwood traveled to Hoffman Estates for the Chris Hruska Wrestling Classic over the holiday weekend. One of the Titan’s first place finishers was Byal who won the 152lb weight class over Maguire Hoeksema of Geneva.
