Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Rosie Bartletti (Sacred Heart Griffin Softball) The Cyclones picked up a conference victory to start the season last Tuesday against U-High. Bartletti struck out 11 in seven innings allowing just one earned run in the 7-3 win. Highlights HERE.

Jake Swartz (U-High Baseball) The Pioneers picked up a 11-0 victory over SHG last Tuesday at Duffy Bass Field to open CS8 play. Swartz pitched four innings allowing just one hit while striking out nine. Check out the highlights HERE.

Grace Blair (Tri-City/ Sangamon Valley Softball) The Tornadoes hosted Pleasant Plains in their season opener last Wednesday. TCSV picked up a 15-1 victory in 5 innings. At the plate, Blair hit a homer to start the scoring and finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs. See that homer and more HERE.

Alaina Ervin (Pleasant Plains Softball) The Cardinals bounced back from the loss to Tri-City with a 8-5 victory over Rochester on Thursday night. Ervin had two RBIs for the Cardinals and pitched three innings allowing just one earned run while striking out four. Highlights of the win HERE.

Ella Gorrie (Glenwood Soccer) The Titans picked a couple wins last week. On Tuesday in a victory over Southeast Gorrie started off the season with a hat trick then she picked up a goal on a penalty kick on Thursday against Collinsville. Highlights of the Collinsville win HERE.

Mitch Dye (Sacred Heart Griffin Baseball) The Cyclones had a busy week with five games but finished with a 3-2 record. Dye had seven hits in four games with four hits coming in the victory over UHigh on Wednesday. He finished the week with three RBIs and struck out six in four innings pitched. Abby Hendricks (North Mac Softball) The Panthers kicked off their season last week and sophomore catcher is off to a hot start at the plate going 6 for 9 in two games for a .667 average. She also scored two runs, one in each game.

Parker Detmers (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans started the season with two wins in Edwardsville over the weekend. Detmers allowed just one hit and two earned runs in six innings pitched while striking out 13.

Jayden Veesenmeyer (Pleasant Plains Track and Field) The Cardinals competed at the Silver Streak Last Chance Meet in Monmouth. The junior finished first with a time of 7.18 seconds and set a new personal record.

Delaney Fitzgerald (U-High Track and Field) The senior is no stranger to this list with her success in cross country and with spring sports starting she is back on the track. She won the 3200 meter race at the Heart of Illinois Conference Indoor meet at Illinois Wesleyan with a time of 11:15 which is also a new PR.
