Darrias Christmon (Rochester Boys Basketball) The Rockets picked up a big Central State Eight conference win last Monday as they defeated Lanphier 61-53. Christmon led Rochester with 17 points in the Rockets fifth conference victory. Check out highlights from the second half HERE.

Kevin Howell (New Berlin Boys Basketball) New Berlin traveled to Williamsville on Tuesday for a Sangamo conference matchup and played an extra eight minutes in a double overtime victory. Howell had a big three in the second overtime to get the Pretzels as they picked up the 55-47 victory. Highlights of the game HERE.

Kam Banks (Southeast Boys Basketball) Another overtime thriller on Tuesday as the Spartans erased a 13 point deficit and with a basket by Banks with 53 seconds left tied the game up at 63. Southeast would pick up the 71-68 victory over Glenwood in overtime. Banks scored 21 of his 31 points in the final 5 minutes and 33 seconds of regulation and overtime. Cory West (Sacred Heart Griffin Wrestling) West has been picking up wins all season and picked up a regional title at 182 pounds in Jacksonville on Saturday. He is 40-2 this season and looks to add to the win column at the sectional meet this weekend. Highlights of the 1A Jacksonville Routt regional HERE.

Peyton Webster (Springfield High Boys Basketball) The Senators picked up a conference win on Friday night against Rochester in Duey Gym. Webster had a big second half for Springfield scoring 14 of his game high 20 points in the 52-38 victory. Check out the highlights of the game HERE.

Spencer Rikas (Auburn Boys Basketball) Rikas entered Friday’s Sangamo matchup with North Mac with 999 career points. It did not take him long to pick up that 100th point as he a three for Auburn’s first points of the game. We have highlights of the Trojan’s 62-52 victory HERE.

Kaylen Reed (Rochester Girls Basketball) With a win over Springfield High on Saturday the Rockets have forced a three way tie at the top of the CS8 standings. Reed led Rochester with 19 points in the 52-40 victory over the Senators. You can see the highlights HERE.

Egan Franzen (Maroa Forsyth Boys Basketball) The Trojans ended the Sangamo vs IPC Challenge with a win for the Sangamo thanks to a 71-58 victory over Prairie Central. In the win Franzen scored 22 on his home court. First half highlights of the game HERE.

Will Turk (Glenwood Boys Swimming) The Titans are Central State Eight conference champs after winning the conference meet on Saturday at Eisenhower pool. The senior was a part of four first place finishes including two individual wins. Turk’s individual wins came in the 500 freestyle (4:40.81) and the 100 breaststroke (58.42). While he was also a part of the 200 medley relay (1:42.07) and 400 freestyle relay (3:25.26).

Joey Ruzic (Auburn Wrestling) The Trojans won a team regional in Jacksonville on Saturday while Ruzic also picked up a regional title of his own. Makenna Cox (Lutheran High Girls Basketball) The Crusaders picked up a 53-12 conference win over Lincolnwood last week as Cox scored 16 points, needing just 12 to become a 1000th point scorer. She the first in girls basketball history at Lutheran to reach this mark as a junior.

Jake Hamilton (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones are CS8 champs and just when you think he can’t top his previous performances Hamilton finds a way to do just that. He led the offense with 30 points in a victory over Eisenhower on Tuesday. Then Hamilton scored his 100th point in the Cyclones’ overtime victory at Glenwood on Friday. Alex Hamrick (Glenwood Wrestling) At the 2A level in Jacksonville on Saturday the Titans picked up a regional title. At 285 pounds Hamrick won a regional title of his own with a pin just 44 seconds in. That was also his 100th career victory. Highlights from the 2A Jacksonville regional HERE.

Hailee Daigh (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Toppers are 23-5 this season and picked up a 61-52 victory over Williamsville last week. In the win Daigh scored 17 points with nine steals and five assists including some big buckets late in the game.
