Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Callie Huston (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Basketball) The Cyclones are back to back City champs! SHG picked up a win over Lanphier Monday night to claim the 2022 City title with a record of 3-0. Huston led SHG with 21 points in the 42-18 victory. Check out the highlights of the victory HERE.

Cort Sommer (Springfield High Swimming) The Senators dominated in the pool last Tuesday to win the City Swimming and Diving meet. The senior, Sommer, won two individual events: the 200 freestyle (1:59.19) and freestyle (53.97). He was also a part of two relay teams that took first: 200 freestyle relay (1:41.05) and 400 freestyle (3:39.32). See just how dominate Springfield High was HERE.

Marley Smith (Auburn Girls Basketball) Big week for Smith as she became the girls all time leading scorer on Monday with 36 points in a victory over Gillespie. Then on Thursday the senior became the all time scorer in Auburn history against South County. The previous record stood for 33 years and Smith still has plenty of games to add on to the new record this year. Check out the record setting basket from Thursday night HERE.

Jake Hamilton (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) For the first time since 1973 the Cyclones are outright City champions. They took on Lanphier Tuesday night to make up their final City game and picked up the victory 65-48 to finished 3-0. Hamilton led all scorers in the victory with 23 points. Diavian Mehundrew (Southeast Girls Basketball) The Spartans picked up a 61-57 conference victory over MacArthur last Monday. Mehundrew had a big game for Southeast with a game high 28 points in the win.

Gavin Arthalony (PORTA Boys Basketball) The Bluejays picked up a conference road win in New Berlin on Tuesday with the 47-40 victory. Arthalony finished with a game high 16 points with three 3s and eight points in the first half. You can see highlights of the victory HERE.

Dresden Grimm (Auburn Wrestling) The Trojan had a big week setting a school record and picking up a first place finish on Saturday. Earlier in the week Grimm set the new career takedown record. At the Rich Lovellette Invitational in Litchfield he picked up the 132 pound championship while Auburn picked up a third place finish as a team.

Naomi Elliott (U-High Girls Basketball) The Pioneers trailed by nine at the end of the third but came back to hand Springfield High a conference loss. Elliott went 5-for-6 on free throws in the fourth and had a game high 15 points in the 32-30 victory.

Gannon Dodd (New Berlin Boys Basketball) The Pretzels picked up a 56-35 victory over Maroa Forsyth on Friday to hand the Trojans their first conference loss. Dodd had six points in first quarter as New Berlin jumped out to a hot start. He finished with a game high 15 points. Highlights of the Pretzel’s win can be found right HERE.

Alexis Wade (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The junior has been big for the Toppers all season long and on Monday night against LeRoy she became a thousand point scorer. Mt Pulaski is currently 22-5 and continues to pick up wins.

Cory West (Sacred Heart Griffin Wrestling) The Cyclone picked up a first place finish at the Rich Lovellette Invitational in Litchfield on Saturday. He defeated Lena Winslow’s Connor Vincent to become the 182 pound champion.
