Brylan Phillips (MacArthur Football) Have a day Brylan! Saturday in the Generals 42-34 victory over Springfield High Phillips put up some crazy numbers. Phillips had 328 yards passing with five passing touchdowns while adding 130 yards and one touchdown on the ground. MacArthur will be looking for their fifth win as they take on Jacksonville on Friday.

Colleen Zeibert (Rochester Cross Country) The Rockets hosted the Central State Eight cross country meet on Saturday and Zeibert picked up the victory on her home course. Her first place finish was 10 seconds ahead of the next finisher at a time of 18:14.9.

Parker Boatman (SHG Soccer) The Cyclones won a regional championship this week with a 2-0 victory over Riverton. Boatman was responsible for both goals in the championship game as SHG advances to the Carlinville Sectional this week.

Lauren Bloom (Rochester Volleyball) A career milestone at Southeast Tuesday night when the Rockets took on the Spartans. Bloom recorded her 1000th career assist in the victory to set up a big matchup with U-High for the conference championship this week.

Camden Austin (Athens Football) Athens shocked the Sangamo Friday night with a comeback victory over Maroa Forsyth. Austin racked up three touchdowns in the 28-21 win. He rushed for 60 yards with two rushing touchdowns and had an important 72 yard kickoff return to tie the game with eight minutes to play. The Warriors are rolling as they take on North Mac in week nine.

Amber Ehrlich and Simmi Mander (Glenwood Tennis) The Titans are sectional championships and this pair had an impressive showing. They dropped just one game all tournament winning the first three rounds 6-0, 6-0 before defeating Rochester’s Martyn and Musgrave 6-0, 6-1 in the championship.

Sachit Muduli (U-High Cross Country) The Pioneers travled to Rochester for the Central State Eight cross country meet on Saturday. Muduli finished first place in the boys race with a time of 16:10.8 which was 18 seconds before the second place finisher.

Louisa Wilson (Williamsville Cross Country) Learn this name because the freshman picked up a win at the Sangamo conference meet in PORTA on Tuesday. Wilson finished 16 seconds ahead of second with a time of 19:01.3.

Cooper Kowalewski (Springfield High Soccer) The Senators picked up a big win over Glenwood to help secure the CS8 championship. The game was tied at one to end regulation and in double overtime Kowalewski scored the game winning goal. The Senators will compete in the Jacksonville regional this week.

Hannah Smith (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) The Cardinals remained unbeaten in the Sangamo last week with wins over Maroa Forsyth and New Berlin. On Tuesday Smith reached a career milestone as she recorded her 1000th career assist in a victory over Mt Pulaski.

Isaac Crumrine (Riverton Cross Country) The sophomore continues to impress this season and finishes first at the Sangamo conference meet on Tuesday. He finished with a time of 16:01.4, which was 25 seconds before the next finisher.
