Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: September 13-18

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Grace Rector (South County Golf) The New Berlin junior has been having a great season on the course. She won the MSM tournament with a 94 and has been named medalist in the last five meets. During one meet at Terry Park she shot a 38 with six pars in a row and an eagle.

Brylan Phillips (MacArthur Football) The Generals returned to the field this weekend and looked like they haven’t missed a step. During the week four matchup against Glenwood the quarterback threw for 275 yards and four touchdowns and picked up 40 rushing yards.

Adam Anderson (Rochester Soccer) The Rockets continues to pick up wins and thanks to Anderson they got a big one over U-High last week. Anderson posted a shutout in goal against the Pioneers in the 1-0 victory.

Jack Knudson (Glenwood Football) Glenwood picked up a victory over MacArthur in week four. Knudson continues to impress on the field and this week he racked up four passing touchdowns against MacArthur with a total of 191 passing yards.

Alaina Ervin (Pleasant Plains Golf) The Sangamo girls competed in the conference meet last week and Ervin walked away as medalists. She shot an 85 on the day finishing just two strokes ahead of second place.

Ja’Kyan Shanklin (Athens Football) Not only did the senior have four touchdowns in the game, he picked up three of those in the first half against PORTA in the Blacktop Bragging Rights game. He rushed for a total of 155 yards in the Warriors 47-12 victory.

Summer Brandis (Taylorville Volleyball) Big Apollo matchup in Taylorville last week between the Tornadoes and Mahomet Seymour as both entered undefeated in Apollo action. The Tornadoes picked up a big win and the setter was an essential for Taylorville all night as they swept the Bulldogs in two.

Brett Puckel (SHG Football) The senior was a workhouse for the Cyclones in their win over Springfield High on Friday. The fullback ran for 110 yards on 16 carries with one touchdown. Keep an eye on the Cyclones as they continue to impress in all phases of the game.

Sophie Zinn (Williamsville Golf) The Bullets won the Sangamo title last week at the conference tournament. The senior has lead the team this season and tied for third with a 92 at the conference meet.

Zach Hinds (Riverton Football) The Hawks moved to 2-2 this week with a win over Pleasant Plains on Friday. The senior quarterback threw for 318 yards and three passing touchdowns, rushed for 112 yards with a touchdown plus a two point conversion.

Lauren Buxton (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) Pleasant Plains keeps adding to the win column on the court including a victory over SHG last week. Buxton has been solid for the Cardinals all season and was a big part of their two set win over the Cyclones.

Xander Eberding (Springfield High Soccer) The Senators got a big win over SHG last week on the soccer field with a 4-0 victory. Eberding came away with the shutout to set up another big conference matchup this week with Rochester.
