Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Carter Downen (Glenwood Soccer) The Titans took on Collinsville on Saturday and picked up a 3-2 win. Downen was involved in every goal. He had two goals, including what would be the game winner as well as an assist.

Zach Hinds (Riverton Football) The Hawks kicked off the season with a big win over North Mac on Saturday night. The three year starter had all four touchdowns in the 26-20 victory. He had 239 yards passing with two passing touchdowns and 135 rushing yards with two scores. Riverton has a ton of  momentum heading into week two as they host Pittsfield.

Chloe Byrd (Springfield High Volleyball) Springfield High hosted Glenwood on Tuesday and made a statement with a 25-17, 25-23 win over the Titans. Byrd lead the team with 8 kills in that game and continued to rank up kills at the Crusader Classic on Saturday. Watch out for the Lady Senators this year, they’re ready to shock some people.

Kaiden Maurer (Maroa Forsyth Football) What a debut at starter for the sophomore as the QB went 9-10 with five touchdowns in the air against Auburn in the Trojan War on Friday. He had 260 passing yards and picked up 63 on the ground. The Trojans will travel to North Mac in week two.

Kayleigh Bergschneider (Lutheran High Volleyball) The Crusaders won the Crusader Classic this weekend and in four games Bergschneider racked up the stats. She finished with 16 aces, 26 kills, and 41 digs. Lutheran continues to be a threat this fall.

Hank Beatty (Rochester Football) Pretty sure no one was shocked by the performance we saw from Beatty as the Rockets picked up a week one win over Jacksonville on Friday. The Illinois commit had 192 passing yards with three touchdowns, 70 rushing yards with two more touchdowns and 90 yards receiving. He will likely be in an elite club by the end of the season as the first to rush for 1000 yards, throw for 1000 yards and receive for 1000 yards in his career. Rochester gets their first home game of the season in week two as they host MacArthur.

Peyton Bergschneider (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) The junior was dominate against North Mac on Thursday as Bergschneider was the go to hitter throughout. The Cardinals won 25-14, 25-20 to open Sangamo play as they look to continue with the success they had in the Spring.

Rashad Rochelle (Springfield High Football) The Senators finally got the win over Glenwood they have been looking for. In the 39-36 victory Rochelle racked up 376 yards of offense and four touchdowns. He had 220 yards and two touchdowns in the air with 156 yard and two touchdowns on the ground.

Brayton Strawkas (Riverton Soccer) Strawkas was solid in the goal for the Hawknadoes on Tuesday against North Mac. He made two saves during penalty kicks to help send the game to sudden death where Riverton picked up the Sangamo victory.

Ja’Kyan Shanklin (Athens Football) The Warriors got the season started with a 47-22 victory over New Berlin. Shanklin led the team on the ground with 114 yards and two touchdowns. Look for Shanklin to earn his spot on the list of dominant Warrior running backs.

Olivia Thoroman (North Mac Cross Country) The Panthers cross country team competed at the Early Bird Invite in Porta last week. After qualifying for sectionals last fall, the junior got off to a good start picking up her first win of the season with a time of 14:21.
