Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: May 3-8

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Taylor Verry (Springfield High Softball) The Lady Senators picked up a couple wins this week including one over Jacksonville earlier in the week. Verry played a big part in that victory with five runs batted in on two hits. She also added two RBIs later in the week versus Rochester.

Jake Swartz (Normal U-High Baseball) The Pioneers have been on a roll and continued that with a win over Peoria Richwoods on Friday thanks to a no hitter from Swartz. He struck out twelve and walked just two in the 9-0 victory.

Mason Williams (Pleasant Plains Baseball) Another great pitching performance from Williams as the Cardinals took a 2-1 won over Beardstown Friday night. He struck out 17 in 6 2/3 innings while allowing just one hit, one earned run, and walking two.

Gretchen Trello (SHG Softball) The Cyclones won all four of their games this week and Trello racked up the RBIs. She had a five against Pleasant Plains while added four more in the other three games for a total of nine RBIs on four hits.

Sarah Byrd (Springfield High Track and Field) Springfield High took over City track this weekend and Byrd set a new City record as the Lady Senators got the win. In shot put she won with a throw of 46 feet surpassing the pervious City record of 43 feet 9 inches. She also took the victory in discus with a throw of 87 feet 5 inches.

Drew Martin (Mt Pulaski Baseball) The Hilltoppers are on a roll to start the season and added three wins this week. In their game against Lutheran on Friday Martin had five runs batted in on two home runs in the victory. He also added three RBIs on two hits in their other games.

Brock Richards (Maroa Forsyth Track and Field) Watch out for Maroa Forsyth track this season, the Trojans keep racking up wins and breaking school records. On Thursday in Auburn Richards set two new school records with a time of 10:24 in the 3200 and another in the mile with a time of 4:48.

Madalyn Buxton (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) Pleasant Plains picked up a win over Lincoln on Friday behind Buxton’s five goals. She consistently a big scoring threat for the Cardinals as they continue to their win streak including four this week.

Macyn Cotton (Jacksonville Wrestling) The Crimsons picked up some wins this week and Cotton picked up multiple individual wins as well. Those individual wins came against Pittsfield, Riverton, and Hillsboro.

Blair Keebler (Williamsville Soccer) The Bullets picked up a few wins last week and Keebler has a big impact. In two days she scored six goals and had four assists, four of those goals and two of the assists was against Lutheran High.
