PORTA got out ahead on SHG and looked like they were ready to take down another CS8 foe with a 16-8 first quarter lead, but the Cyclones rebounded massively in the second quarter, taking a 32-25 lead into the half. From there, SHG continued to get great shooting from Noah Newton as the defense clamped down for a 53-42 sectional championship win. SHG moves on to the UIS Supersectional Tuesday night where they will play Bismarck.
