Lunden Cook (Jacksonville Basketball) Cook has been the main man for the Crimsons all season, and that stayed true during holiday tournament time. He totaled 37 points to close out the Carbondale Tournament as Jacksonville finished with wins over Marion and Du Quoin.

Michael Ousley (Lanphier Basketball) The Lions had a great run at Pekin falling just short in the title game to Lake Park. Ousley stepped his game up to another level to lead the Lions at the point guard position earning himself the MVP of the entire tournament.

Kassidy Kirchner (PORTA Girls Basketball) The Bluejays were one of the few area teams to bring home a holiday tournament title. PORTA found themselves down to Pana in the Riverton championship game early in the fourth, but some sharpshooting from Kichner helped the Bluejays prevail. Kassidy had 18 points in the championship game along with earning the tournaments MVP award.

Travis Hogan (Riverton Basketball) Hogan and the Hawks defended their St.Teresa tournament title by taking down the Bulldogs in the title game. Travis did his thing while dropping 26 points and a huge dunk to help Riverton secure back to back titles. He also had strong showings throughout the tournament to land him a spot on the all tournament team.

Mason Clem (SHG Wrestling) Abe’s Rumble was one of the biggest wrestling events in the state and Clem and the Cyclones had a very strong showing. Clem went undefeated in two days leading SHG to a sweet sixteen appearance. SHG finished 11th overall at Abe’s rumble.

Gervasio Marchizza (Auburn Wrestling) Auburn had our best showing at the Abe’s Rumble tournament. The Trojans finished 5th overall thanks to a few huge performances by Marchizza. Gervasio picked up his 100 career win as he only had one loss at the two day tournament.

Austin O`Donoghue (Lincoln Wrestling)  O’Donoghue had himself a tournament at the Lincoln Holiday Wrestling Classic. Lincoln finished ninth overall led by Austin’s first place finish at 145. Austin beat Anderson Ryan from Normal Community in the championship to complete his 66.5 total points he earned for the weekend.

R.J. Walker (Eisenhower Basketball)  RJ’s late game heroics against Edwardsville earned him a spot on this week’s PTP list. Walker hit a layup with seconds left to give Eisenhower a two point advantage over the Tigers that would ultimately lead to a Panther win at the Collinsville Tournament.

Heidi Hergenrother (Plains Girls Basketball) Plains traveled to Lanphier and got a win against one of the best teams in the CS8 as they took down the Lions last Monday. Heidi added a huge second quarter as her 15 points were key for the Cardinals in the win.

Khloe Damm (Illini Central Girls Basketball) Khloe reached a career milestone as she scored her 1,000th point against Williamsville last Monday. The junior led the way for the Cougars as they scored an overtime win over the Bullets to move to 10-3 on the season.
