A three run second gave Effingham a 3-2 lead that it turns out they wouldn’t give up. After a lightning delay in the bottom of the second lasted about an hour and a half, we resumed play and the pitchers dominated from there. Effingham’s Jackson Lee just happened to have the lead, and he’s the one that closed the door on SHG’s season in the bottom of the seventh with a strikeout to set up a Saturday morning sectional championship matchup with Glenwood.
