Cole Howard scored 34 points to power West Central past Routt 63-49 in the first game of the Waverly winner’s bracket on Thursday morning.
Routt’s defense kept them in it in the first quarter, as the Rockets led 11-10 after one but the Cougars opened up a ten point lead at the half.
West Central will play the winner of North Mac and New Berlin at 2 p.m. on Friday in the semifinals.
Gabe Cox had 11, Drew Evans had 10 for the Cougars. Adam Lindsey had 13 to lead Routt.
