The Solons would score first with 14 minutes left to play in the first half as Max Thuma assisted Wolf Brethorst for the goal. Central created multiply changes in the second half including a breakaway by Santiago Rodriguez but Collin Taylor would find ways to stop the Maroons and hold on to the Springfield 1-0 lead.
Champaign Central would equalize with just over five minutes left to play in the game as Pablo Diaz finished the assist from Santiago Rodriguez. With under two minutes to play Max Thuma would again find Wolf Brethorst for a Senator goal making the score 2-1 SHS and clinching the sectional title for Springfield.
