McKenzie Smith had a quite a few kills, especially in the second set of the 2018 Sangamon County championship game, but she was quick to talk about the Pleasant Plains defense against Lutheran High that helped them win in straight sets.
Pleasant Plains beat Lutheran High 25-20, 25-19 to earn the title with Allie Edwards and Smith being named to the all tournament team following the championship match. Lutheran High’s Cara Anderson and Chloe Ginder were also named to the all tournament team for the Crusaders.
