Not many people expected Decatur MacArthur to make a run for the CS8 conference title, but three weeks into the season the Generals find themselves at 3-0 after another CS8 win at Normal U-High 34-7.
Quarterback Deyon Jackson got MacArthur going with two touchdown runs to start the game to give the Generals a 13-0 halftime lead. MacArthur’s defense forced three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown by AJ Lawson.
Derrick Taylor also added two rushing touchdowns to go with his tenacious defense. The Generals go to 3-0 and will get put to the ultimate test when they host defending 4A champion and fellow 3-0, Rochester.
