West Central jumped out to a 24-4 first quarter lead and never looked back in the opening game of the 67th annual Waverly Holiday Tournament on Tuesday. Cole Howard poured in 23 points and the Cougars cruised to a 72-38 win over Carrollton.
West Central will play No. 5 seed Auburn on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
