Prime Time Performer December 4th – 9th

Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Catie Eck (SHG Forward) Check her out in Plays of the Week after nailing a half court buzzer beater! SHG’s Catie Eck also appears in Big Nasty a few times this week and it’s all well deserved. Eck scored 22 points against rival Rochester on Saturday night to push the Cyclones into the conversation for a CS8 title this year.

Trey Hild (PORTA Wrestler) There’s been no second place for Trey Hild when it comes to the Rex Avery Invitational. PORTA’s senior wrestler won an individual title for the fourth time in as many tries on Saturday at the big 1A event in Petersburg. Hild won this year at 145 pounds as he continues his march back to Champaign to get his revenge.

Ozzy Erewele (Springfield High Guard) Another year, another case of the Springfield High Senators dominating the CS8 early on in the girls basketball race. This year they’ve got Ozzy Erewele helping lead the way and she proved it with 19 points against Glenwood on Saturday and nine against Lanphier earlier in the week, both were wins for the Solons.

Ryan Nevill (Williamsville Forward) Sometimes it’s not about how many points you score, it’s when you score them. That’s the case for Bullets big man Ryan Nevill. The stretch four nailed the game winning three from the corner in overtime against Athens to start Williamsville’s crazy week with a win.

Connor Allen (New Berlin Guard) Starting the season…all eyes were on Max Day and what he would do to lead the Pretzels into this highly anticipated season. Day got hurt and the focus moved to Hunter Stockton….but Blake Lucas will tell you he’s got a very complete team out there and they showed it on Friday as Connor Allen stepped up and scored 22 points against Athens to lead New Berlin to yet another big win.

Cardell McGee (Lanphier Guard) Night in and night out, Lanphier has a couple guys that could go Russell Westbrook on you and drop a triple double. Senior Cardell McGee is one of those guys and he showed it last week. Against Eisenhower he had 13 points, 9 assists and 16 rebounds. Against Springfield High, McGee had 35 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 6 steals.

Charlie Hamilton (SHG Guard) If you haven’t seen his dunks yet…go check them out. The SHG students started him his own fan club twitter last week too. Charlie Hamilton is becoming quite the player for Kyle Krager, he scored 19 points against Rochester and 18 against Southeast.

Anthony Fairlee (Southeast Forward) He posted a double-double against MacArthur and even fouled out halfway through the fourth. If Anthony Fairlee is on the floor, a lot of eyes are on him. Southeast’s 6’4” junior scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards and had two incredible dunks that you don’t normally see at the high school level.

Jared Viele (SHG Hockey) We got out to the rink to see the great hockey rivalry in the Lincoln Land Hockey League last week and the Cyclones ran away from Glenwood on the back of Jared Viele. SHG’s stud this year scored four goals and had an assist against the Titans.

Ali Fraase (Plains Guard) Pleasant Plains made a huge statement by running away from Williamsville last week in the third quarter. A big reason why is the guard play from their sophomores. Ali Fraase is a great compliment to Caroline Jachino and has serious handles. Fraase had 15 points against PORTA last week and a couple key buckets against the Bullets.
