The story in 1A Boys Cross Country was the same it has been over the past few years: Wyatt McIntyre dominated. After finishing as the runner up in last year’s State Finals, McIntyre redeemed himself Saturday morning with a first place finish in 14:24. Athens as a team finished 7th overall.
For the girls’ side, it was a pair of sophomores shining through. Pleasant Plains’ Caroline Jachino finished 6th overall with a time of 17:59 while Williamsville’s Caroline Gwaltney finished 19th with a time of 18:17. Williamsville placed 6th in the team totals.
